MILESTONE # 3 REPORT: Outcomes and Reflection
Outcomes
• Describe the results of the data you collected
• What do the results mean?
• Describe any challenges or barriers to implementation of solution and collection of data. Did they effect or skew the results?
Reflection
Look back at (reflect on) your problem and analyse, reconsider and question your experience of this problem within a framework. For example, in Medicine, reflecting on your clinical approach to a patient; for this project, applying OB theories and concepts to a behavioural problem.
Reflective writing encourages you to consider why things occur, to evaluate situations and to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It gives you practice at self-analysis: considering what is occurring, why it is occurring, so that you may learn from the process of solving this problem.
The following questions can be used to guide your reflections:
• What did you learn about yourself while working on this problem solution?
• What was the most difficult part of the process?
• What part of the project required you to master new skills?
• What could you tell another person about how to effectively solve a problem like this one?
• How would you go about solving this problem differently if you were to work on it again?
• How happy were you with the outcome of the solution you implemented?

Other Guidelines for this Project: How to Connect Theory with Practice
Your writing for this project needs to go beyond just describing your observations or thoughts, or a simple summary of related theories. By taking on the perspective of an “external observer”, aim to critically evaluate your experience with the problem you are working on, think about the connection between theory and practice, and link these ideas with what you have learned from your coursework, readings and elaborate on it.
Reflection on practical contexts enables you to explore the relationship between theory and practice in an authentic and concrete way. Examples:
