The OIST Graduate School offers an enriching
Research Internship program in various STEM fields, lasting between 3 to 6 months. This program provides students with hands-on experience, allowing them to work under the supervision of a professor and contribute to ongoing research projects. Interns may also acquire specific techniques in their chosen field during their placement.

Internship Support
The following support is provided exclusively to research interns (not extended to dependents or family members):
- Internship Allowance: 2,400 JPY per working day.
- Commuting Allowance: OIST Shuttle Bus Pass.
- Travel Expenses: One direct round-trip air ticket, with travel dates aligned to the internship term.
- Accommodation: Furnished accommodation either on or off campus.
- Administrative Support: Assistance with the acquisition of a Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) for visa applications and other registration processes.
Regulations
Interns who plan to import biological or hazardous materials should ensure compliance with the regulations of Japan, their home country, and any transit countries. They must complete all necessary paperwork ahead of time.Additional regulations on payment, intellectual property, attendance, health and safety, etc., will be provided to successful applicants.
